Sydney's lockdown has been extended, so while we're not going anywhere, let's make the most of the best takeaway and delivery options our restaurants have to offer. Here are a few exciting options to try.

Porcine Bistro has teamed up with Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey to create a one-off barbecue kit. Available for delivery and pick up from Friday, September 24 for one week only, the $150 limited-edition box comes with everything home cooks need to serve up a smoked barbecue feast. The "Chiswick at home" menu has had a makeover with plenty of new dishes to enjoy including a creamy pumpkin soup; two truffle and gruyere toasties (to heat at home); sumac-cured ocean trout with beetroot and horseradish; and bread and butter pudding with rhubarb and currants. MILPA Collective, Bondi and Potts Point 

All four of MILPA's venues (Carbón, Calita, Taqiza and Sonora) have got in on the takeaway action this lockdown but the highlight has to be their fiesta for two to four people ($100-$200), which includes all the trimmings for a perfect Mexican feast including guac, corn, tacos and quesadilla (plus margaritas, of course). Unfortunately, many hospo staff have been hit hard by the latest lockdown, so a few generous venues have stepped up to provide free or discount meals for those who may not be able to afford it. The Australian Venue Co is providing 2000 "mates bag" for staff and other hospitality workers, which include seven free, fresh meals (plus one dessert) such as beef shepherd's pie, Sri Lankan curry and Thai pumpkin soup. The bag can be claimed via the company's website, and collected from Bungalow 8 at King Street Wharf. Mary's Newtown is also offering a $10 burger and beer for eligible hospo staff (bring your RSA or payslip) during lockdown (text 0435 469 421 for details), while The Taphouse is dishing out free dinners and bourbon shots for all hospo workers, no questions asked. Just ask for a "hospo meal" at the Darlinghurst venue for a house-crumbed chicken schnitzel with gravy, chips and seeded salad, or a vegetarian pasta puttanesca with onion, garlic, chilli, sun-dried tomato, olives, capers and parmesan. Surry Hills charcoal chicken eatery Henrietta is also lending a helping hand, offering 40 per cent off its Flip the Bird Box, a snack pack with fried chicken pieces on a bed of potato gems, topped with coleslaw, pickles, toum and a secret sauce ($18, $10 for hospo workers).
