Oishii Ne have recently had pop-up restaurants in Hammonds of Hull and Paragon Arcade

Hull's Oishii Ne Asian Food Co. will open in a local café this month as part of a delicious collaboration. The sushi business will be serving food from Hang Out Artisan Bakehouse on Saturday, May 21.

Oishii Ne – which means "tasty" in Japanese – has recently enjoyed residencies at Hammonds of Hull and Paragon Arcade, where they operated pop-up restaurants serving sushi, gyoza, and deep-fried karaage. This new collaboration will see them serving their mouthwatering food on High Street in Hull's Old Town.

Hang Out Artisan Bakehouse is situated in the heart of the Museum Quarter, opposite the Streetlife Museum. Owner Ana will be preparing a range of Japanese-inspired sweet treats to be sold on the day to compliment the savoury food served by Oishii Ne.

Speaking to Hull Live about the upcoming collaboration, Tom from Oishii Ne said: "We're very much looking forward to the pop-up at Hangout on May 21. Ana is a good friend and an extremely hard worker and, although we have two different food trades, we think this day will bring in all types of different crowds.

"Hang Out have a lovely seating area just outside looking out over Old Town and the Museum Quarter and we will be open a little later than normal to help the passers-by get their gyoza and karaage fix. We had a blast at Hammonds of Hull and Paragon Arcade lately and are enjoying getting around to different locations and meeting new people.

"Everyone seems to love the food thankfully and we have a lot of people trying sushi for the first time. I think a lot of people are scared of raw fish so I don't do it much!

"I offer mainly meat and vegan options so that everyone can try and there's no greater feeling when someone says, 'Oh that was lovely, I didn't expect that,' and then they become regulars! Paragon Arcade was a particularly lovely couple of weeks as the independent businesses down there are a very lovely group and all at one point popped their heads in to try or just to say hello.

"They have a bit of everything down there so I found myself shopping more than cooking! We are looking to do perhaps some more pop-ups this summer so keep your eyes peeled on our Instagram and Facebook for location updates and additions of new food. Itadakimasu!"
